Lancaster University (legally The University of Lancaster) is a collegiate public research university in Lancaster, Lancashire, England. The university was established by royal charter in 1964, one of several new universities created in the 1960s. The university was initially based in St Leonard's Gate in the city centre, before starting a move in 1967 to a purpose-built 300 acres (120 ha) campus at Bailrigg, 4 km (2.5 mi) to the south. The campus buildings are arranged around a central walkway known as the Spine, which is connected to a central plaza, named Alexandra Square in honour of its first chancellor, Princess Alexandra. Lancaster is a residential collegiate university; the colleges are weakly autonomous. The eight undergraduate colleges are named after places in the historic county of Lancashire, and each have their own campus residence blocks, common rooms, administration staff, and bars.
Since its inception in 1972, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has been the global authority that sets the environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment. UNEP works on delivering transformational change for people and nature by drilling down on the root causes of the three planetary crises of climate change, nature and biodiversity loss, and pollution and waste. UNEP employs seven interlinked subprogrammes for action: Climate Action, Chemicals and Pollutions Action, Nature Action, Science Policy, Environmental Governance, Finance and Economic Transformations and Digital Transformations.
We help you leap into the future of clean energy. We have over 45 years experience transforming energy use, generating capital for communities, and inspiring responsible energy actions. We work with the top energy stakeholder groups that shape energy policies, such as the California Energy Efficiency Coordinating Committee (CAEECC), the Technical Advisory Committee for the development of the Los Angeles County Sustainability Plan, Leadership Council for the Los Angeles Regional Climate Collaborative (LARC), Local Government Sustainable Energy Coalition (LGSEC), California Energy Demand Management Council (CEDMC) and with the Association of Women in Water, Energy and Environment (AWWEE).
